Mitzvah Expo: Get Informed. Be Inspired.
Mitzvah Expo is a multimedia platform including a podcast and website (MitzvahExpo.org) highlighting organizations strengthening Jewish life. It is designed to connect Jewish values with action and is driven by its motto: Get Informed. Be Inspired. Through interviews, organizational spotlights, and future live events, Mitzvah Expo features a wide range of organizations serving the Jewish community worldwide and supporting Israel. It helps listeners know how they can get involved.
Mitzvah Expo is produced, written and hosted by Rabbi Cantor Dr. Linda Bernstein and provides an interview with the organization's leader discussing its mission, current initiatives, and how it helps to address the challenges and opportunities facing Jewish communal life.
Podcast episodes, 30 minutes in length, will be distributed via MitzvahExpo.org (click “Listen/Watch”), as audio programs on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, and as audio and video programs via YouTube. Each organization featured on Mitzvah Expo, the podcast, also has a “Showcase” page on MitzvahExpo.org. The page offers viewers/listeners additional information about the organization’s mission, programs, and opportunities for engagement, including volunteering, advocacy, and philanthropy. Over time, the platform is expected to expand to include live Mitzvah Expo events, bringing community organizations together with individuals seeking ways to become more involved in Jewish life.

Leadership: Rabbi Cantor Dr. Linda Bernstein
Rabbi Cantor Dr. Linda Bernstein (Rabbi Linda) is the creator, producer, writer and host of Mitzvah Expo. See her website at rabbilindabernstein.com for more details.
She earned her Master of Jewish Studies in 2021 from the Academy for Jewish Religion California (AJRCA), specializing in Music in Jewish Life, and completed the AJRCA Rabbinical Program (2019–2024). In 2024, she was ordained as a Rabbi and Teacher and received her Master of Rabbinic Studies. She completed a year of Clinical Pastoral Education (2023). She was an Intern of the Cantors Assembly starting in 2019 and earned her Hazzan certificate and membership in the Cantors Assembly in 2023.
Rabbi Linda has served communities across the Bay Area through synagogue leadership, prayer, teaching, and compassionate pastoral presence. She was a Rabbinic Intern at Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley and served as the Pastoral Care Intern at Rhoda Goldman Plaza in San Francisco. She has also served as a guest rabbi and cantor for congregations in the Bay Area. Rabbi Linda is a 50+ year member of Congregation Beth Sholom in San Francisco, and has held many lay leadership roles.
A thoughtful writer and creator, she has written for both professional and lay publications. Her Master Theses were on synagogue life during COVID and the changing face of Conservative Judaism. She is also the creator of Mitzvah Power Academy, a growing series of books, videos, and Jewish educational resources for children ages 5–10 (mitzvahpower.com), designed to inspire young learners through meaningful stories, values, and joyful engagement, which are produced by a subsidiary of her company, Jewish Kids Media (jewishkidsmedia.com). She recently launched Shul Radio, an 18 minute musical podcast series entitled, “Let’s Welcome Shabbat” with an accompanying website at ShulRadio.org.
Before entering the rabbinate, “Dr. Linda” built a distinguished career as a clinical pharmacist specializing in medical communications and media. She earned her Pharm.D. from the UCSF School of Pharmacy in 1977, completed residencies from 1977–1979, and has served as a Clinical Professor and volunteer faculty member at UCSF. She is President of Vita Media Corporation, a medical communications company founded in 1998. She is an award-winning producer, writer, and host of thousands of multimedia health and pharmacy educational programs and campaigns for professionals and consumers of all ages.
Today, Rabbi Linda brings that same creativity, warmth, and leadership to Jewish communal life to enrich the Jewish experience. She Mitzvah Expo to inform and engage listeners in the valuable work done by our Jewish organizations and other local and national initiatives.
