Tyler Gregory CEO of JCRC Bay Area
In this second episode of Mitzvah Expo, the Jewish organization showcase, we feature the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) Bay Area, the largest collective voice of Bay Area Jews, embracing and celebrating the rich diversity of Jewish identity and our broader community. Rabbi Cantor Dr. Linda Bernstein, Producer, Writer, and Host of Mitzvah Expo is pleased to interview Tyler Gregory, CEO of JCRC Bay Area and Executive Director of Bay Area Jewish Action (BAJA) to talk about what it takes to protect and strengthen the Jewish community in one of the most challenging moments in recent memory. Tyler works closely with elected officials, law enforcement, and K–12 and higher education leaders to ensure the Bay Area and California remain places where Jewish communities can live openly and safely. In recent years, JCRC has become a leading Jewish organization addressing the rising threat of antisemitism in the Bay Area through public education, media engagement, and advocacy, as well as coalition building on issues of social justice and shared values.
Tyler shares how JCRC Bay Area builds coalitions across ethnic, faith, and civic communities and why those relationships are the key to fighting antisemitism effectively. From advocating for Jewish students in California schools to standing with the Asian community during a wave of anti-Asian violence, Tyler makes the case that Jewish safety and the safety of all communities are inseparable.
